Ice & Snow Storm

The kids have officially been out of school for 10 days. We have lost power 4 of the 10 day, making for a cold, boring house. Everything here has been shut down, they don't mess around here. After living in AK, snow & ice don't really faze me. But, here in TN - It is a BIG freakin' deal. The ice covered everything & was absolutely beautiful! Unfortunately though we lost a large limb of one of our trees. It could have landed anywhere in our huge yard - but landed on & broke our pool pump/filter. Ugh. We have trees that line our driveway & the ice weighed down the limbs to the point the limbs were still attached, but touching the driveway. Crazy.

The kids have played in the snow before, but have never been sledding (We didn't have enough snow in WA). And, to be honest.. sledding is scary to me. If you know me well, you will remember the very bad sledding accident I was in as a child. But, I bit the bullet & bought the kids some sleds and the 3 of us went sledding in our neighbors yard. Grayson loved it from the get go. Garrison was a bit more apprehensive, but loved it all the same. We spent a couple hours outside & the kids exerted much of the energy they had built up.

This is what I mean by a little apprehensive

This tree already had buds, probably because it was 70 degrees 2 weeks ago!

Build A Bear

I haven't been able to spend as much quality time with G & G lately, as I would like to. Most of the time it's for short periods of time, in between feedings, diapers, etc.. Gigi had some tooth fairy money that was burning a hole in her pocket, so we went to her favorite place - the mall. She loves to shop. She will often ask me "Mom, can we go to the shoe store? I promise, it's just to look." HA! I'm Moses is in for it, when she's a teenager! We looked around the mall & they finally decided on Build A Bear. Of course. They are a little obsessed. Garrison had just been there about a month prior and couldn't understand why the lady didn't remember him or his bear. He had the whole store in stitches. Garrison made a brown bear he named Captain American (he already has a Batman). Grayson chose a pink bear, which she creatively named Pinky. We had a good time. It was really nice to give them my undivided attention for awhile. I might have enjoyed it more than they did.

Up Close & Personal

Our little Pili-Pie is 7 weeks old. She is holding her head up like a champ and likes to stare you down with her big blue eyes. She enjoys watching her brother and sister sing and dance. Her favorite is their rendition of "Hard Knock Life". I'm sure it won't be long and she will be joining in.
