Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Today we took a field trip to the pumpkin patch with Gigi's school. She has been talking about it for weeks and had an a.maz.ing time! It was a little windy and wet, but it didn't slow the kids down any. She even fell asleep on the car ride home.. unusual for her.. solid proof that she had an great time.

Can you find my pumpkin?
She's getting so big!

Pretending they are pumpkin seeds

Now they are bees

Just 'hanging out'

Have I mentioned how bad her allergies have been? Playing in the hay barn didn't help!

Having a hay fight with her best bud, Mason

Refusing to smile in the pumpkin patch

Worn out

3 Musketeers Fall Fun

Lately between work, finishing school and M's commitment to the National Guard we haven't been able to spend a whole lot of time with him. So, I recently have been referring to the kids and I as the 3 Musketeers. Today, M competed in the Tough Mudder it's 9:30p and I am still not quite sure how it went as he is in the mountains and is not getting good reception.

I have been determined to still pack every weekend with all the fall fun the kids and I can handle. Lately the idea of another crap project, as Gigi likes to call it, is overwhelming but there is only one week left til Halloween.. so we are making the most of it.

This morning after our amazing fall breakfast of whole-wheat pumpkin pancakes with real maple syrup Flavor Blasted Pizza Goldfish & Oranges - we headed to Michaels where Gigi made a spider shirt! Then Gio's AM nap, Target for a new pair of shoes for Gio (he won't stop growing & I refuse to let him wear Croc's any longer), Chick-fil-A for lunch, PM naps for the kids, some pumpkin 'craps', a little outside play, dinner, bath and bed. Tomorrow I will be happy not to be able to refer to us as the 3 Musketeers as we are looking forward to a whole fall family day to spend with M!

He wanted to help with the pumpkins too!

3 Years Old

"A mother's treasure is her daughter." -Catherine Pulsifer
Dearest Grayson,

Three years ago, when the doctor laid you on my chest I looked down at your angelic face and thanked God. You were my first child, the baby I always dreamed of having. My heart was bursting with love and I felt as if I had known you my whole life.

It seems as if the last 1,095 days have been blinked away. I blinked and you were born. I blinked and you could walk. I turned around to cook dinner and you could talk. I stopped for 15 minutes to have your brother and you could sing, do a somersault, and play soccer. I ran to the grocery store and you started preschool (darn that grocery store).

Before anymore days are blinked by, here are some things I want you to remember: Always have faith and stay true to yourself. Remember that everyone is different and different is beautiful. You will realize that beauty will get you many things, but always remember that the inner beauty you hold is the most powerful. Be kind and compassionate not only to everyone around you, but also to yourself. Laugh. Oh do laugh! Your giggle lights up the room and makes my heart sings. Laugh with your friends, laugh at the world, and laugh at yourself. Dream big. Dream colorful. Dream magic. Dream beyond the stars.

I have faith in you my beautiful daughter. I love you forever and look forward to a lifetime of experiences with you. Thank you for all the smiles and even some of the tears. Thank you for always loving me and teaching me everyday how to be a better person.  Thank you for being a part of our family.  But most of all…Thank you for just being you!

I Love You With All My Heart,
Mommy

13 Months

Dearest Garrison,

Whooaah! This month flew by! And I am positive you grew about an inch a week, learned a new word everyday and have made me fall even deeper in love with you!

We celebrated your first birthday last weekend with a big harvest party. You had an amazing time, even though you slept through a little of it.

Everyone that has ever been around you have definitely determined you are a man's man. You LOVE beer - so much that your daddy has to pour it into a colored glass.. because if you see the beer bottle, you go CRAZY until you get some. You have even gone crazy over Colby's apple juice that was in a beer mug. You love anything with wheels and can throw/kick a ball like a champ! You have even been known to sit and watch a football game, which is a big deal for you.. you never sit! And last but not least - you are infatuated with your daddy. You would rather be in his arms than anywhere else in the world. It is safe to say you are daddy's boy!

Your vocabulary is growing everyday. Here are some of the words you have added:

Gio -- Grandma -- Horsey -- Aussie -- Drink -- More -- Done -- Riley -- Maddie -- Titi -- Shoe -- Bath -- Zebra  -- Night Night -- Row, Row Your Boat -- Dream -- Hat -- Banana -- Eat

Although some things you aren't able to say yet.. you know what almost everything means! If I ask you to go get the soccer ball & kick it - you do just that!

You are without a doubt the best baby ever. You sleep 12-13 hours a night and take one 3-3.5 hour nap or two 1.5 naps. You smile all day long. Give kisses and hugs that melt my heart and share everything with your sister.

You have been having some difficulty breathing, so I took you into the doctor and your oxygen levels were too low. So, you have been on nebulizer treatments ever since. You are supposed to get them every 4 hours.. but to be honest - we don't do it that much. You REALLY dislike them and usually scream for the whole 5 minute treatment. They don't hurt you - but I think you are disturbed by the noise of the machine. You go back to the doctor on Monday for your 1 year well-check and I am hoping we will no longer need to give you anymore treatments.

I hope this month goes a little slower than last. I am looking forward to enjoying the fall season with you!

Love You Always,
Mommy

You still have a little baby left in you :)
Always being silly

I just love this boy!

That smile! Those eyes! The chubby cheeks!

Preschool Birthday Celebration

** Just wanted to give you fair warning - the next week (possibly month) of posts will be all about birthdays.**

Here is a quick little peek inside Grayson's school. I brought in cupcakes for her class today, since her birthday is Saturday. It is safe to say they enjoyed their cupcakes & I enjoyed my time with her little friends.
