I Know Most Parents Think.....

That there child is a genius.. BUT, MINE REALLY IS!

GiGi's little mind is developing so fast.. I can barely keep up with her. She likes learning from everyone (except me) and refuses to show-off her intellect.

She is really into books. Not the kind of books you would expect to see a 2 year old read. She likes "chapter" books.. the bigger the better & no pictures necessary. She is always carrying a book around with her & acting like she is reading it.

She now can count & count & count. I never knew she was able to count until one day, she just went for it! Mind you, she will not do it on demand.

She has a serious fascination with looking at maps. She also carries a map arournd with her and sleeps with one under her pillow.

She also loves to draw. But the other day she wrote a "letter" and the letter seriously resembles letters!

She is also very domestic. She can make a bed, put clothes in/out of washer/dryer, and load/unload the dishwasher better than her daddy. And, just ask her where something is in the house, she will be able to find it in about 2 seconds (which is really handy in our household!)

To me she is quite the genius 2 year old! I am fascinated by her mind & how it continues to grow each day!

Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road..?

TO GET TO THE YELLOW RIVER GAME RANCH!

Yesterday was half price day at the Yellow River Game Ranch.. so you know we were there :)

It was our first time there & definitely won't be our last. Gigi has not been exposed to many animals throughout her two years. We have been to the zoo a couple times and to a couple petting zoos. So, I did not know what to expect from her. She started out very apprehensive, but by the time we were ready to leave she was full of confidence!

She was able to pet & feed all kinds of animals that pretty much roam free throughout the park...such as bunnies, chickens, goats, sheep, deer, donkeys and ducks. We also got to see a black bear, mountain lions, coyotes, cougars, and some other animals behind cages!

Gio rode in his stroller & took it all in. I was surprised at how much he liked watching the animals. He didn't make a peep the couple of hours we were there. He may be our lil zoo keeper someday!

Stone Mountain - The Commons

I am not sure how many posts I will have by the end of the year titled "Stone Mountain!" It's definitely one of our favorite places in GA! We have spent countless hours & made tons of memories there. One of their restaurants is now on restaurants.com.. so SCORE! We went on Saturday afternoon.. the weather was gorgeous, so we were able to eat outside! Gigi had a great time watching the ducks, listening to the organs, and making friends with all the people there!

The waitress gave Gigi a GIGANTIC cookie!

and she gave us a "toothy, chocolatey grin.. the whole way home!

It's A Beautiful Day...

Things have been so hectic around here I haven't been keeping up with my blog as much as I like to. So the kids are napping, Mo is playing softball & I am camped out on the recliner with the computer, peanut m&m's, and the remote control! Perfect Sunday afternoon!

The weather here has been beautiful and last weekend Gigi, Gio, and I, along with Milagros & her girls planned a picnic at the park. The kids ran around, played soccer, played in the sand (Gigi calls it "dirt" - Isa calls it "where the cats pee"), and Gio went in the baby swing for the 1st time! The warmer weather has made me anxious for spring! I know the kids also feel the same way..

Check out that hair!!!

Valentine's Day 2011

We started off our Valentines Day with donuts for breakfast. Gave one to Gigi, she was not interested. She instead requested yogurt & a banana. What, can I say? I am raising one health conscious kid! Well, ldon't worry.. I did not let her donut go to waste!

Next up was a walk through Atlantic Station & lunch at Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro. I had scored a coupon from restaurants.com earlier in the week. We also went to Copeland's last year for Valentines Day. I guess you can say I love tradition. It's  interesting to think that 3 years ago I would have never thought about going "out" to lunch for V Day. Now, with 2 kids... I see it as the ONLY option! The kids slept the half hour ride home.. I am thinking that it was our V Day gift from them!

The rest of the day was spent running errands, at doctor appointments & cleaning. We did get Gio an exersaucer, Gigi got a new pair of sunglasses & a pink & gold soccer ball, I got a Starbucks gift card (thanks hun!) and Mo got a card.

Cheers! To a wonderful V Day with my THREE (this year) Valentines!

5 Months Old...

You are the poem I dreamed of writing, the masterpiece I longed to paint.
You are the shining star I reached for In my ever hopeful quest for life fulfilled...
You are my child. Now with all things I am blessed. -Author Unknown

Dearest Garrison,

You are five months today. I can hardly believe how fast you are changing. You are still as smiley as ever, even to perfect strangers. We took you to the doctor yesterday and your now weigh 17 pounds and are 27 inches long! You are quite a big boy! The doctor told me I should start feeding you baby cereal & fruit for breakfast, a vegetable & fruit for lunch, and 2 vegetable & 2 fruits for dinner... WOW! You are going to be one happy boy! We are hoping with this new meal plan you will start sleeping more than 2.5 hours at a time.. because, the lack of sleep it starting to take a toll on Mommy.

You had a lot of firsts lately...
--Your 1st Valentines Day! You got an exersaucer!
--Your 1st time @ the park (you went in the baby swing)
--Your 1st mo-hawk (you got rave reviews!)
--Your 1st time in a highchair @ a restaurant.

You can now sit up on your own for a few minutes! Daddy & I also watched you get up on your hand & knees for the 1st time yesterday! You were going after your Daddy's phone. After you were up on your hands & knees you shot across the bed & landed head first! It was a valiant effort!

We love you so so much! Happy 5 months!
