"A mother's treasure is her daughter." -Catherine Pulsifer
Dearest Grayson,Three years ago, when the doctor laid you on my chest I looked down at your angelic face and thanked God. You were my first child, the baby I always dreamed of having. My heart was bursting with love and I felt as if I had known you my whole life.
It seems as if the last 1,095 days have been blinked away. I blinked and you were born. I blinked and you could walk. I turned around to cook dinner and you could talk. I stopped for 15 minutes to have your brother and you could sing, do a somersault, and play soccer. I ran to the grocery store and you started preschool (darn that grocery store).
Before anymore days are blinked by, here are some things I want you to remember: Always have faith and stay true to yourself. Remember that everyone is different and different is beautiful. You will realize that beauty will get you many things, but always remember that the inner beauty you hold is the most powerful. Be kind and compassionate not only to everyone around you, but also to yourself. Laugh. Oh do laugh! Your giggle lights up the room and makes my heart sings. Laugh with your friends, laugh at the world, and laugh at yourself. Dream big. Dream colorful. Dream magic. Dream beyond the stars.
I have faith in you my beautiful daughter. I love you forever and look forward to a lifetime of experiences with you. Thank you for all the smiles and even some of the tears. Thank you for always loving me and teaching me everyday how to be a better person. Thank you for being a part of our family. But most of all…Thank you for just being you!
I Love You With All My Heart,
Mommy
